Rey Ángel Martínez

Rey Ángel Martínez ( born May 13, 1980 in Havana ) is a Cuban soccer player.

Association

Since 1998 for FC Ciudad de La Habana play, won the 1.84 m wide striker Martínez with his team in that year, the Cuban Championship, to which he contributed with seven goals scored. In the seasons 1999/2000 and 2001/2002 was followed by two vice - championships. In 2002, he sat down during the CONCACAF Gold Cup in Los Angeles with his Cuban team-mate Alberto Delgado from and eventually signed a contract with Major League Soccer team Colorado Rapids in June 2004. This Martínez was the first Cuban in the MLS. He then played for the Rochester Rhinos in the USL First Division and completed 48 games in which he scored eight goals. In August 2008 he moved to the Carolina RailHawks. Next career stop was the New Jersey Ironmen in the Xtreme Soccer League, which he joined on November 6, 2008. There he remained for two seasons and in 2009 went to those in the USL Second Division antretenden Real Maryland Monarchs. As more stations and Baltimore Blast and Philadelphia KiXX are listed.

National

Martínez was active in both the U23 his home country as well as the Cuban soccer national team for which he completed 17 international matches until his escape. He belonged to the team of his country at the Copa Caribe and the Pan American Games.
