Rezatkreis

The Rezatkreis was one of the 15 counties of the Kingdom of Bavaria founded in 1806 and is named after the river Rezat in the region of Franconia.

History

In the years 1806-1808 the Kingdom of Bavaria was divided into 15 districts (state ), whose names are based on rivers. In the north of Rezatkreis (starting in 1817 as the Upper Main District ) bordered on the River Main in Bavaria District, on the east by the Pegnitz circle and the Altmühltherme circle (up to 1810), to the south by the Bavarian Upper Danube district and on the west by the Württemberg Jagstkreis. 1817, the number of circles on seven or eight was reduced ( with the Rhenish Palatinate ). The Pegnitz circle and the northern part of the former Altmühltherme circle ( from 1810 belonging to the upper Danube circle) were incorporated into the Rezatkreis. Ansbach became the capital. Commission Regulation of 29 November 1837 from the Rezatkreis on 1 January 1838 Today's Middle Franconia, one of the seven administrative regions of Bavaria.
