Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus is a common moss, which displace at convenient locations and grasses can form artreine moss lawn. Features

It is a strong, more or less irregularly branched moss with erect or ascending stems. Reaching heights of up to 15 cm. In general, the plants are 5-10 cm high. The color varies from yellowish green, pale green and olive green.

The similar kind Rhytidiadelphus subpinnatus is sometimes regarded as a subspecies of Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus. Whether they are distinct species, is not yet clarified.
