Richard Ellmann
Richard David Ellmann ( born March 15, 1918 in Highland Park, Michigan, † May 13, 1987 in Oxford, England ) was an American literary critic, literary critic, novelist and biographer. He became famous for its excellent with the National Book Award biography of James Joyce. Until the end he devoted himself to the biography of Oscar Wilde.
For Oscar Wilde Biography Ellmann 1989 he received the Pulitzer Prize. She also served as a template for the filming of Life of Oscar Wilde, directed by Brian Gilbert.
Lucy Ellmann is his daughter.
