Richard Keese

Richard Keese ( born November 23, 1794 in Peru (today Ausable Township ), New York, † February 7, 1883 ) was an American lawyer and politician. Between 1827 and 1829 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Richard Keese visited community schools and Keeseville Academy. He then worked in agriculture. Politically, he was a member of the Jacksonian Group. In the congressional elections of 1826 for the 20th Congress Keese was in the 19th electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Henry H. Ross on March 4, 1827. He retired after March 3, from 1829, from the Congress. After his conference time he went to the auction business. He was in the years 1835 and 1836 Judge at the Court of Common Pleas in Clinton County. On February 7, 1883, he died in Keeseville in Ausable Township and was then buried in the Evergreen Cemetery.
