Richard L. Van Enger

Richard L. Van Enger ( born June 20, 1914 in New York City; † March 20, 1984 in Burbank, California ) was an American editor.

Life

Van Enger started his career in the film business in 1939 as Schnittassissent in Gone with the Wind. From 1942 he worked as a stand-alone cutter. By 1957, he was primarily involved in films, then to 1978 primarily due to television series. With the Western - director Joseph Kane he had a year long collaboration.

In the course of his career he was nominated four times Eddie Award, three Emmy nominations.

In 1950, he was known for his involvement in the film You were our comrade the Academy Award for Best Editing nomination.
