Richard LaGravenese
Richard LaGravenese ( born October 30, 1959 in Brooklyn, New York City ) is an American screenwriter and film director.
Life
The screenplay written by him to The Fisher King (1991 ) earned him an Oscar nomination. In the movies Living Out Loud (1998 ) Freedom Writers (2007 ) and PS I Love You (2007), he worked both as a writer and as a director. In 2006 he was one of the directors of the film Paris, je t'aime. 2013 followed the literary adaptation Beautiful Creatures - An undying love.
For his screenplay for Freedom Writers LaGravenese received the 2007 Humanitas Prize.
Richard LaGravenese is a member of the Writers Guild of America ( WGA).
He currently lives with his wife and daughter in Manhattan.
