Richard Luchsinger

Richard Caspar Luchsinger ( born June 14, 1900 in Glarus, † February 20, 1993 in Zurich ) was a Swiss ear, nose and throat doctor.

Luchsinger graduated from the Matura in the canton of Schaffhausen school, studied medicine at the Universities of Basel, Zurich and received his doctorate in 1927 at the University of Lausanne. In 1943 he was habilitated in Zurich of Oto-Rhino - Laryngology. From 1953 to 1964 he was Professor at the University of Zurich, then Professor of Phoniatrics at the University of Basel.

Luchsinger considered a pioneer of Phoniatrics and Logopedics in Switzerland. He was from 1948 together with Miloslav Seeman ( Prague ) and Jean Tarneaud (Paris) editor of the journal Folia Phoniatrica.
