The Timaru Airport ( engl. Richard Pearse Airport or Timaru Airport, IATA code: TIU; ICAO code: NZTU ) is an airport located in Timaru, New Zealand. The airport was named after the New Zealander Richard Pearse, an aviation pioneer, which already before the Wright brothers to be succeeded a powered flight. The small airport has a paved runway and landing strip. Wellington and Christchurch regular flights on behalf of Air New Zealand from the Eagle Airways from Wellington, Oamaru only when necessary.
