Richard Phené Spiers

Richard Phene Spiers ( born May 19, 1838 in Oxford, † October 3, 1916 in London) was a British architect and watercolor painter.

Spiers studied in London and from 1858 to 1861 in Paris. Since his studies he set almost every year at the Royal Academy in London, where until 1906 he directed the School of Architecture in 1870.

Spiers also published several journals, including " Architect. Drawing " and "Architecture, East and West ".

Works

Spiers served as architect for the expansion of Umberland Hall in Warwickshire and the renovation and expansion of the Beckett Hospital, Barnsley. Two of his watercolors, the one from 1884, are on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
