Richterich

Richterich is a municipality of the city of Aachen, and is a suburb northwest of the city. To Richterich belong the localities Horbach and hoof. It borders the district of Aachen Lauren Hill and Duke Rather district Kohlscheid. It is believed that the story of Judge Rich and Horbach goes back a long time, as the name suggests a Celtic settlement. For the Roman period that the name is recteriacum witnessed.

Building and history

Among the most important buildings include the Inaugurated in 1791, Church of St. Martinus, Schönau Castle, moated castle Haus Heyden in Horbach. In St. Martinus is the historic Maass organ from 1836. It is also the oldest organ in Aachen. Schloss Schönau now houses a restaurant and is available to citizens as a cultural center with various events available while Heyden house is now used for residential purposes. In addition to some houses from the 18th century in the old village there are some old manor houses well preserved, such as the Good build ( around 1750, the year of 1758 in the archway referred only to the construction of the gate building ) or the tithe, both in the Green Straße. From 1911 to 1927, the mine Carl Friedrich promoted as the southernmost mine of the worm coalfield coal. The staff was up to about 500 men. The promotion was discontinued because of unfavorable tectonic conditions and the poor quality coal after only 16 years.

Incorporation

On 1 January 1972 Richterich was incorporated in Aachen. Part of the municipality with 1119 inhabitants ( Bank and Wilsberg ) was reclassified to Herzogenrath.

Traffic

Judge Rich had formerly a railway station on the railway line Aachen -Mönchengladbach and a branch line million for Vetschau. Passenger traffic for the Richterich station was abandoned in 1966. In 1992 the line was closed to Simpelveld and dismantled in Vetschau on a length of a few hundred meters. In this district the route is interrupted by Simpelveld.

It is planned to build on the railway line Aachen -Mönchengladbach a breakpoint of Euregiobahn.

Kindergartens

In Richterich there are four kindergartens, municipal kindergartens Park Road, lessons Richer Street and Green Straße and the Catholic Kindergarten St. Martin, between this and the RWTH Aachen has existed since 2005, a cooperation agreement.

Recreation and Sports

In Richterich there are several sports clubs. These include Rhenaniastraße Richterich, the SV Horbach 1919, the Turnverein Richterich 1885 eV, the fishing club Richterich Angelsportverein Horbach.

There are also two carnival clubs, the first K.G. Koe Jonge Richterich 1956 eV and the KG Horbacher Friends 1998 eV, a shooting club, the St. Hubertus Protect Brotherhood Richterich 1816 eV and the instrumental club Richterich 1887 eV

Also has existed since 1901, the Volunteer Fire Department - Fire Company Richterich.
