Riebiņi

Riebiņi is a town in south-eastern Latvia and center of the district of the same name ( Riebiņu novads ).

The village was founded in the 18th century to a country manor. In the 19th century Jews settled here in which 533 people total of 91% of the population at the 1897 census.

The vast complex of buildings of the estate was the end of the 19th century was empty and then put different from the philanthropists Jevgenia Kerbedza visual artists as a resort available. In other, the painter Konrad Krzyżanowski and some of his students stopped here on several occasions.
