The Rienzenstock is a mountain in the Swiss canton of Uri. He is the main peak of the Diederberge, a chain running along the Reuss valley which separates a small side valley that Fellital, east of the main valley.

Summit

North of the Rienzenstocks follow as a side peak of Diederberg ( 2650 m), the front Bächistock ( 2,475 m ), the Black Mountain ( 2314 m ) and the Taghorn or Fellihorn ( 2,125 m ) as the northern statements.

The peaks are partly due to the steepness of the whole region only sporadically visible, but the eponymous Diederberg, as well as front Bächistock and Black Mountain are well Wassen, that is from the west, visible.

To the south is dominated by the Rienzenstock the streams floor ( 2944 m), the Schjienstock ( 2888 m) and the well floor ( 2824 m).

Fellital

The Fellital runs from north to south and rises from the mouth of the fur Ibachs into the river at Gurtnellen ( 694 m) within 8.6 kilometers distance about 1784 meters to Fellilücke on, which forms the southern end of the valley 2,478 meters above sea level. This gives an average slope of 20 percent for this valley and explains the lack of a road.

Already halfway to reach the Treschhütte, a mountain hut of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC ). From the southern end of the valley on the Fellilücke you come to the south to 400 meters below the Oberalp Pass.
