The reefs head is a 1,748 m high mountain in the Allgäu Alps in the towing of the Höfats west-northwest ridge, which is sometimes referred to as Höfats promontory. It represents the first significant peak in the ridge between Oytal and Dietersbachtal dar.

On the reefs head cause no marked trails, but only a hard -to-find Jägersteig. Therefore, it is mostly climbed by locals. Since the reefs head is covered to the summit with sandals, the pathfinding is sometimes difficult.
