Riga–Jelgava Railway
The railway line Riga - Jelgava is a railway line in Latvia. She has the Russian track gauge of 1524 mm, has a length of approximately 43 km and is electrified throughout. The track is expanded throughout double and is also one of the most important railways in Latvia. Owners and operators of the route is Latvijas dzelzceļš.
History
The line was opened in 1868 and in 1894 nationalized.
Operation today
It run 23 pairs of trains per day on the entire route (as of December 2013). Passenger trains may operate continuously at 100 km / h and freight trains at 80 km / h
