Rinaldo Alessandrini

Rinaldo Alessandrini ( born 1960 in Rome ) is an Italian harpsichordist, organist and conductor in the field of historical performance practice.

Alessandrini began as a 14 -year-old taking piano lessons at age 18, he discovered the harpsichord and fortepiano. He also has been active since his youth choirs in its environment. Among his teachers was Koopman Ton.

Rinaldo Alessandrini founded the Baroque ensemble Concerto Italiano. With the ensemble, he joined in 1984 with the opera " La Calisto " by Francesco Cavalli first time to the public. Since then visited Rinaldo Alessandrini with the ensemble most international festivals, he has become one of the worldwide leading specialist in the music of Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Pergolesi, Bach and their contemporaries.

2003 was honored by the French Ministry of Culture Rinaldo Alessandrini as Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. Together with the " Concerto Italiano " he received in the same year the Italian Critics Prize "Premio Abbiati ". The trade press drew zehlreiche of his recordings with prices, so he received several " Gramophone Awards ", " Grand Prix du Disque ", " German record prices," the "Prix Caecilia " and others.
