  • Bundesordner is also common for the file folders in Switzerland since 1908. Biella made in 1989 to protect the term as a trademark.

Design and function

It is used by the free certain aspects (eg chronological, alphabetical, thematic) assorted collection of originally loose papers. These sheets are provided prior to the filing with usually two holes on the left side sheet, which are punched by a hole puncher. The holes are used for sheet tray.

The tip Klemmer, the opening and closing mechanism, is used to fix the sheets within the file folder. The base is made of metal, usually glanzvernickeltes steel, whereby the strength is guaranteed. In the base attached, there are two parallel, along the base aligned wires made of spring steel. On the basis of a lever ( or plastic sheet ) is mounted, which pushes the underlying rods by pressing apart in the middle. At the two ends of the rods, the actuating lever causes closer together, so that the race rings of the folder to be clamped. Thus, the tip Klemmer is firmly seated on the file and prevents slippage of the leaves.

The folders are shown on the back usually with back-plates. On this the contents of the folder can be recorded in the form of a rough paraphrase. For the back plate, a transparent pocket is present or it is glued on. Furthermore, the folder has a finger hole on its back. This allows you to quickly drag the folder of a collection of other folders. Be Squeezed leaves the page in this folder using the so-called clamping bracket. In Germany and most other countries with paper in A4 format, a two - or four-hole ring system will be used. In andersformatigem paper in the U.S., a three-hole system will be used. Also within Europe, the systems are not always compatible. For example, a four-hole system with different hole spacing than in Germany is used in Sweden, the binder mechanism therefore differs somewhat.

Some folders are equipped with space-saving slots. These are two slotted openings in the front cover, stand out through the closed state parts of the metal bracket, thus they can be placed space-saving. With the slots in the lid, through which, in the closed state, the Abheftbügel should look creates a very high stability (stability ) in the folder or folders cabinet shelf. File folders without lid slots fall very easily if they are filled with a certain amount of paper ( tray ).
