The Río Tarija is a river in the south of the South American Andean Republic of Bolivia.

The Río Tarija has its starting point at the confluence of the Río Camacho and Río Nuevo Guadalquivir about 15 km downstream of Tarija, the capital of the department. The starting point is located about 50 km north of the border with Argentina in the Bolivian Cordillera Oriental at an altitude of 1674 m near the town of Valle de Concepción. From there, the Río Tarija flows in a southeasterly direction, united after 184 km to the Argentinean border with the Río Itaú and carries from there until its confluence with the Río Bermejo Río Grande de Tarija the name.
