The Rißneibach is a 3.5 km long, orographic right tributary of the Möhne in North Rhine -Westphalia, Germany. The creek flows entirely within the city limits of the district of Soest -listed town Ruethen.

Geography

The creek rises about 2.2 km north-east of Ruethen on the south side of the hair strand at an altitude of 344 m above sea level. NN. From its source the river flows first in south-western directions. After a flow distance of about one kilometer of the creek crosses under the provincial road 776 and then turns more into southern directions. After a flow distance of about 2.3 km of the stream reaches the eastern outskirts of Ruethen where a stormwater retention basin is located. Below the water retention area opens on the right side a short, coming from Ruethen nameless creek as significant inflow. After re- crossing under the main road 776 the creek disappears into a channel in which it flows under the highway 516 and the industrial area at the old train station to Rüthener Möhne. The mouth is located on 292 m above sea level. NN. With a height difference of 52 m, the average bed slope is 14.9 ‰. The approximately 4.93 km ² large catchment area is drained by Möhne, Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea.
