River Oaks is a city in Tarrant County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located near Fort Worth, west of the County Center and has a total area of 5.2 km ² without significant water surface.

History

Boost to the city in 1941, when the government near the city of a factory for the production of B-24 bombers decided which later became the Carswell Air Force Base was. From 1960 to 1980, the population grew from 2000 to over 8000 inhabitants. By reducing the Air Force Base, the population declined in the following years again to 6580 in 1990.
