Province

The city Riviersonderend ( German: "river without end " ) located in the municipality Theewaterskloof, district Overberg, Western Cape Province in South Africa on the N2 road at a height of 155 meters above the sea level. 2011, the town had 5,245 inhabitants. Cape Town is 160 km, Swellendam 63 km away.

Is named the city after the river Sonderend River, which rises at the foot of Sonderend Mountains.

History

The city was founded in 1923, sold it to the local church of the Dutch Reformed church as wife Edith McIntyre their farm Tierhoek.
