Roar Hansen

Roar Hansen ( born February 28, 1966 in Stidsvig ) is a Swedish football coach.

Career

As a player, Hansen acted in Swedish amateur. He was active for Tvärby IF, IF Stidsvigs, Kvidinge IF and Östra Ljungby IF, before he ended his playing career in the fall of 1989 and the following year took his first coaching job at Stidsvigs IF. In 1992 he moved as a youth coach to Klippans BIF, where he moved in 1995 to the head coach of the team competition. In 1998 he moved to league rivals Helsingborgs Södra, which he failed as a table runner of his Fourth League season at the end of the year until the rise playing for third division. The following year he won the club the season, he led the upstart in the 2000 season in third place. Nevertheless, he moved within the league to Högaborgs BK.

In 2004, Hansen joined as assistant coach Jan Jönsson to the first division club Landskrona BoIS in Allsvenskan on. When the club located in a relegation battle in early August parted with his head coach, Hansen was declared the interim coach. After a game, he moved back into second place, Mats Jingblad took over as coach. At the end of the season the team remained as Tabellenelfter in the top division. In the following year the team was in a relegation battle and passed ultimately into the relegation matches against the Gothenburg club GAIS in the league. Then Hansen left the club in December to an offer from the third division Ängelholms FF to accept to work as a head coach in the next two years. In his second year at the club he rose to the second-class Superettan, his contract was extended by option exercise. After he had placed the team in the next two years in mid-table, he extended despite the interest of several first division in October 2009 again his contract by two years.

End of November 2010 announced his contract with Hansen Ängelholms FF to follow in the footsteps of Hans Gren at Premier League rivals Östers IF. As in fourth - just behind Ängelholms FF - he missed in his first year of the relegation place to Allsvenskan to three points in the second division season 2012 but the team around Andreas Wihlborg, Patrik Bojent, Freddy Söderberg and Mario Vasilj was dominant force and rose as the leader in the highest class of game.
