Rob Grootendorst

Robert ' Rob ' Grootendorst ( born February 11, 1944 in Schiedam, † 23 February 2000) was a Dutch scientist communication and argumentation theorists. He was professor of Dutch language communication at the University of Amsterdam and co-founder of the pragma - dialectics.

Life

Grootendorst was a primary school teacher in the 60s. In 1970 he completed a Master's degree at the University of Amsterdam. He graduated in 1982 in collaboration with Frans van Eemeren in linguistic communication, with whom he developed the theory of argumentation of the pragma - dialectics.
