Rob Kearney

Robert Kearney ( born March 26, 1986 in Dundalk) is an Irish rugby union player who is used to the positions of wings and full goalkeeper. He is active for the Irish national team and the province of Leinster.

Kearney played in his youth alongside rugby and Gaelic football. He was employed for the U19 national team and the reserve team Ireland A before he first ran aground for Leinster in the Magners League 2005. With the Six Nations 2007 he stood for the first time in the squad of the Irish national team, but came to no use. He made his debut in the summer of the same year against Argentina. Since the Six Nations 2008, he is a regular formation of Ireland, his first attempt, he appealed against Scotland. At the Grand Slam winning the Irish in the Six Nations 2009 it was used in all games. He was consequently nominated for the British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa. With Leinster he also won this year's Heineken Cup.
