Robert Arnott Wilson

Robert Arnott Wilson (born 1958 ) is a British mathematician who deals with finite groups and their representations, in particular sporadic simple groups and the Monster group.

He received his doctorate in 1983 at the University of Cambridge with John Horton Conway (Maximal subgroups of some finite simple groups). Wilson was a professor at the University of Birmingham and is a professor at Queen Mary College, University of London.
