Robert C. Tucker

Robert Charles Tucker ( * May 29, 1918 in Kansas City, Missouri; † July 29, 2010 in Princeton, New Jersey) was an American political scientist and professor at Princeton University. His research included the Soviet Union, Joseph Stalin and Marxism.

Tucker earned his bachelor's and his master's degree at Harvard University and his doctorate there, after he returned from a nine- year career as attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow in 1953.

Before Tucker in 1962 came to Princeton University, he did research at the Rand Corporation, and taught for two years at Indiana University. At Princeton, he was the first director of the program for Russian Studies.

Tucker was married and had a daughter.
