Robert Desmond Meikle

Robert Desmond Meikle ( born May 18, 1923 in Newtownards, County Down, Northern Ireland ) is a British botanist. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Meikle ".

Life and work

Meikle worked at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. His two-volume Flora of Cyprus (1977 and 1985 ) is a major compilation of the 1750 coming from Cyprus plant species. Meikle is editor of the Draft index of author abbreviations compiled at the Herbarium, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (1980).
