Robert Digges Wimberly Connor

Robert Digges Wimberly Connor ( born September 26, 1878 in Wilson, North Carolina, † February 25, 1950 ) was an American historian and the first Archivist of the United States. He was the son of Henry G. Connor and Kate Whitfield Connor. U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt appointed him head of the National Archives. He served in this position on 10 October 1934 to 15 September 1941. Previously, he worked as a professor of history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduated from the 1899 itself.
