Robert Duncan (composer)

Robert Duncan (born 1973 in Ontario, Canada ) is a Canadian composer.

Life

Robert Duncan grew up in Toronto. He comes from a family that makes music for generations. So already composed his great-grandfather for silent films in England and other relatives worked, among others with composers such as Ralph Vaughan Williams and Benjamin Britten. As a child, he attended the Claude Watson School for the Arts. He learned the organ and played trumpet. Later he completed his musical studies with a Bachelor at York University. He then moved to Los Angeles, where he worked for both composer John Welsman and Lou Natale as an intern.

His debut as a film composer he gave in 1997 for the Canadian television production Dead Love. He became better known for his work on the television series Buffy - The Vampire Slayer, The Unit - A question of honor and Lie to Me Currently he composed for the TV series Castle and since 2012 for Missing and load Restort. For his work on the two television series Castle and Missing, he came again nominated for an Emmy in 2009 and 2012.

A cameo appearance had Duncan in the 14th episode of the fourth season of Castle. In The Blue Butterfly he played a jazz club pianist.
