Robert Gigi

Robert Gigi (* July 29, 1926 in Besançon, France; † 6 February 2007) was a French cartoonist and illustrator.

Life and work

Already during his studies took a job with Gigi Raymond Poïvet. His first comics he published in 1948 under the pseudonym Bob Gigi. Along with the comic book writer Claude Moliterni Gigi created in 1965 for the French V Magazine's comic series Scarlett Dream, which was continued until 1975. In the late 1960s he drew Le dossier of soucupes floaters (Text: Jacques praise ), the beginning of the 1970s the series agar and Ugaki followed. In the 1980s, Gigi was in Angoulême comic teacher and retired in the early 1990s by drawing comics back. Gigi died after a long illness in 2007. Gigi was honored at the Comics Festival Salone Internazionale dei Comics in Lucca in 1969, with the Gran Guinigi. About drawing comics, he worked as an illustrator and in advertising.

In German four albums from the series Scarlett Dream in the years 1981 to 1983 have been published by Carlsen Verlag Gigi.
