Jacques Lob

Jacques praise ( born August 19, 1932 in Paris, † 24 May 1990 in Château- Thierry ) was a French comics author.

At the beginning of his professional career drew praise humorous comics for Hara- Kiri, Planète and other magazines, to Jean -Michel Charlier, editor of Pilote in 1963 advised him to work exclusively as a scenarist. Praise wrote for Jean -Claude Mézières, Jijé, Philippe Druillet, Georges Pichard and others. Particularly successful was his collaboration with Marcel Gotlieb and Alexis, from which the series was Superdupont.

Praise began in the mid 1970s to draw itself again, and published stories in various comic magazines, including Métal Hurlant, L'Echo des Savanes and Fluide Glacial. But he continued to write scenarios for others, mostly for committed at Pilote draftsman. From these stories in 1982 was the album Praise de la Jungle. With Jean -Marc Rochette he created in 1982 with La Transperceneige a story about 20 people who want to escape into a train of a new ice age. The comic, published in 2013 in German translation under the title Snow cruiser in the publishing house Jacoby & Stuart, 2012 was filmed by Bong Joon -ho, under the title Snowpiercer, was producer Park Chan-wook. Praise was from 1984, chief editor of the comic magazine Chic, which was set in 1985 after new editions.

He was awarded the Grand Prix de la Ville d' Angoulême in 1986.
