Robert Hardy Smith

Robert Hardy Smith ( born March 21, 1813 in Camden County, North Carolina, † March 13, 1878 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama) was an American politician from the 19th century.

Smith was in 1849 a member of the State Legislature of Alabama. Then he held a seat in the Senate in 1851 from Alabama. After the secession of Alabama in 1861, he represented those in the Provisional State Konföderiertenkongress. He also served during the American Civil War in the Confederate Army with the rank of colonel.

He died in 1878 in Mobile, Alabama and was subsequently buried there on the Magnolia Cemetery.
