Robert Lee Davis

Robert Lee Davis ( born October 29, 1893 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, † May 5, 1967 in Timonium, Maryland ) was an American politician. In the years 1932 and 1933 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Robert Davis attended the common schools and then studied at Brown University in Providence (Rhode Iceland ). Between 1910 and 1932 he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad. This period was interrupted by his military service in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party. From 1928 to 1932 he was executive director of the campaign committee of his party in Philadelphia; 1932-1935 he was there regional party chairman.

Following the resignation of Mr George Austin Welsh Davis was at the due election for the sixth seat of Pennsylvania as his successor in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on 8 November 1932. Since he did not stand in the regular congressional elections of 1932, he could only finish the current term in Congress until March 3, 1933.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives, Robert Davis operated as a private businessman. He has worked among others in the property market. Between 1962 and 1967 he was District in Pinellas County in Florida. He died on 5 May 1967 in Timonium.
