Robert "Mack" McCormick

Robert " Mack " McCormick ( born August 3, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is an American folklore and music researchers.

In the 1950s and 1960s discovered McCormick blues musicians like Mance Lipscomb, Lightnin ' Hopkins and Buster Pickens and was involved in their first recordings. At the same time he also resurrected the already deceased blues legends like Robert Johnson and Henry Thomas literary back to life. McCormick has dozens of books, magazine articles and liner notes written records - and worked at the prestigious Smithsonian Institution. During his now 50-year life as a researcher, he has created one of the largest private archives of the Texas music history.
