Robert Nugent Lynch

Robert Nugent Lynch ( born May 27, 1941 in Charleston, USA), Bishop of Saint Petersburg.

Life

Robert Nugent Lynch studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio and at the Pope John XXIII. National Seminary in Weston, Massachusetts. He received on 13 May 1978, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

Robert Nugent Lynch was assistant priest in the parish of St. James in North Miami. He was then rector of St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami. After Lynch was pastor of St. Mark in Fort Lauderdale.

On December 5, 1995, Pope John Paul II appointed Bishop of Saint Petersburg. The Archbishop of Miami, John Favalora, donated to him on 26 January 1996, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Archbishop Emeritus of Miami, Edward Anthony McCarthy, and Emeritus Pro- President of the Pontifical Commission for the State of Vatican City, Archbishop Paul Casimir Marcinkus Curia. From June 6, 1998 to November 12, 1998 Robert Nugent Lynch was also Apostolic Administrator of Palm Beach.
