Robert Reid (author)

Robert Reid ( born October 2, 1966 in New York City ) is an American author and founder of the online music service Rhapsody.

Life

Reid grew up in Darien, Connecticut. He studied Arabic and International Relations at Stanford University, he also holds an MBA from Harvard. 1994 Reid moved to Silicon Valley to work for Silicon Graphics, where he was responsible for the relationship with them Netscape. He is married to the technology journalist Morgan Webb.

Author

Reid is the author of three books, with his first work ' Year One ' treats his student days in Harvad. His second work ' Architects of the Web' tells of the rise of Internet companies and related stakeholders such as Marc Andreessen of Netscape, Jerry Yang of Yahoo and Rob Glaser of RealNetworks. His third book is located at the Science Fiction genre, and deals with the music piracy issue.

Entrepreneur

Reid is the founder of the online music company Listen.com. 2001 started Listen.com the music service Rhapsody. 2003 Listen.com was acquired by RealNetworks, where Reil became vice president of the company.

In 1999, Reid Board Member of IGN Entertainment, in September 2005 the company was sold to News Corp..
