Robert Sabuda

Robert James Sabuda ( born March 8, 1965 in Wyandotte, Michigan) is an American children's book illustrator and designer of pop-up books.

After attending the Pratt Institute in New York City Sabuda worked as a package designer. 1988 Sabuda illustrated his first children's book " The Fiddler's Son ". International recognition gained Sabuda with his published from 1994 Pop -up books in which he opened up new dimensions of this genre of books. His books are characterized by a very delicate paper mechanics, which is often omitted an illustration. The books "Alice 's Adventures in Wonderland: A Pop -up Adaptation" in 2003, "America the Beautiful" in 2004 and "Encyclopedia Prehistorica Dinosaurs: The Definitive Pop - Up" ( 2006, together with his partner, Matthew Reinhart ) have set new standards in the design of Pop -up books set. Sabuda is one of the leading international paper engineers - paper engineers and has already won three times with the Meggendorfer Prize MBS Movable Book Society (USA)

Sabuda operates a studio in New York City, where he designs books and take care of the promotion of young talents in the field of children's book illustration and paper engineering.
