Robert Sturdy

Robert Sturdy ( born June 22, 1944 in Wetherby, West Yorkshire ) is a British politician of the Conservative Party.

Life

Sturdy attended Ashville College, Harrogate and learned bookkeeping. He then managed the estate of the family. He is a hobby beekeeper and Vice - President of the Cambridgeshire Beekeepers Association. His son Julian Sturdy was also politicians and took over his father's farm.

Sturdy since 1994 Conservative Member of the European Parliament, 1994-1999 Cambridge and Bedfordshire North, afterwards for the Eastern Region in Yorkshire. He is active in the committee on foot-and -mouth disease. He is also a member of the Royal Society for Bird Protection and Treasurer of the Land Use and Food Policy Intergroup.
