Robert (Tex) Allen

Bob Allen (actually Irvine E. Theodore Baehr, born March 28, 1906 in Mount Vernon, New York, † October 9, 1998 in Oyster Bay, New York ) was an American actor.

Allen attended the New York Military Academy and Dartmouth College; he went into the movie business and was in the 1930 contract with Columbia Pictures and 20th Century Fox. In forty films he played the young hero - for Love me forever, he received the Box Office Award. Allen had with Bob Allen Ranger series own Western film series, which included six films.

From 1939 he turned to the stage and played in Los Angeles and San Francisco in addition to Claudia Morgan and Sylvia Sidney. During the war, he entertained the troops in North Africa and Italy to return after the end of Broadway. At the beginning of the 1950s he was also occasionally seen in television roles. Chance he played well into old age guest roles.

One last public appearance he had in July 1998 when he won the Sir John Templeton Epiphany Prize handed Chuck Norris.
