Robinson Crusoe on Mars

Emergency landing in space (Alternative Title: Robinson Crusoe on Mars and Daniel Defoe - Robinson Crusoe on Mars Original Title: Robinson Crusoe on Mars ) is an American science fiction film directed by Byron Haskin from 1964 with Paul Mantee, Victor Lundin and Adam West in the lead roles. The film is based on motives of the novel Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe.

Action

The astronaut Draper collides with a meteor and is forced to land on Mars. There he fights, as once the castaway Robinson Crusoe, in an unfamiliar world for its survival.

Production Notes

The buildings created Arthur Lonergan, Albert Nozaki and Hal Pereira. The visual effects were done by Farciot Edouart and Albert Whitlock, the special effects Lawrence W. Butler. The sound worried Harold Lewis and John Wilkinson. Bud Bashaw Jr. and Wally Westmore were responsible as a makeup artist, the conductor was Fred Steiner. The film was shot in Death Valley National Park, California, USA.

Emergency landing in space launched on 24 September 1964 in the German cinemas.

Nathan Van Cleave's score for emergency landing in space was released in March 2011 under the original title Robinson Crusoe on Mars on CD with the label FSM Records.

2012 appeared a German Blu -ray, entitled Daniel Dafoe - Robinson Crusoe on Mars.
