Rockwell Kent

Rockwell Kent ( born June 21, 1882 in Tarrytown, New York, † March 13, 1971 in Plattsburgh, New York) was an American painter and printmaker.

After studying architecture, he turned to painting and graphics. He drew emphasizes realistic and dramatic illustrations. Kent illustrated the novel Moby Dick by Herman Melville with pen and ink drawings that remind gives the impression of woodcuts.
