Rodney A. Grant

Rodney Arnold Grant ( born March 9, 1959 in the Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota, United States) is an American actor, the great prominence in the role of " Wind in his Hair " in the movie The obtained Dances with Wolves.

Life

The members of the tribe of Omaha was raised with his four older siblings from his grandparents and grew up in Thurston County ( Nebraska). After a brief six-month period of service with the U.S. Marines and six years as a reservist he had in 1988 in the film The Young Warriors debut. He has since appeared in several films and television series, as in Due South or Stargate - Kommando SG -1.

In 1990 he had his biggest role as " wind in his hair " in Dances with Wolves. During the shooting Grant had great difficulty learning the Lakota language. Not to be cut entirely from the film or to end up as mere extras role, he took extra hours with the casting director of the film.

Grant was involved in the organization Boys and Girls Clubs of America. In its partner organization, Boys and Girls Clubs in Indian Country, he is now in an advisory capacity on the board operates.

Private

Grant is married and has three daughters and a son. The daughters live with their mother, Grant 's first wife. Grant lives with his second wife Lee -Anne and their son Walter.

Awards

For his performance in Dances with Wolves Grant was awarded the Western Heritage Award. In 1991, he was counted as one of People Magazine's 50 most beautiful people in the world.
