The Roen (Italian Monte Roen ) is with 2116 meters slm The highest mountain of Mendel ridge on the border between South Tyrol and Trentino.

Location

The Roen is located roughly in the middle of withdrawing from north to south Mendel comb. Like the other mountains of the mountain range it falls to the east into the lowlands steep. In South Tyrolean side of the wine town of Termeno located at the foot of the mountain ( 276 m). From the west of Roen appears much less prominent. There, the area of the mountain stock is divided among several municipalities of the Valle di Non, like Don, Amblar, Sanzeno and Coredo.

Alpinism

Coming from the north of the Roen from Mendel Pass via the managed Roenalm (Italian Malga Romeno ) is achievable. The rise of the pasture to the summit is via two routes possible. The easier route leads as your hike to the summit plateau. A more challenging variation on the east of the mountain peak located Überetscher hut (1775 m slm ) and further via a secured climbing to the summit.
