Roger L. Easton

Roger L. Easton ( born April 30, 1921 in Craftsbury, Vermont) is an American inventor and scientist.

Life

Easton attended the Colleg Middlebury in Vermont. Considered jointly with Bradford Parkinson and Ivan A. Getting the inventor of the Global Positioning System ( GPS). In 1995 he wrote for the United States Naval Research Laboratory Vanguard project a proposal which was in competition with two other projects, one of which was from the U.S. Army, which had prepared Wernher von Braun. The Eisenhower administration decided on the proposal of the Vanguard project. Easton also invented the Minitrack system for the Vanguard project.
