Roger Pfund

Roger Pfund ( born December 28, 1943 in Bern, Switzerland, lives in Lenk im Simmental ) is a Swiss graphic designer and graphic designer, visual designer and painter.

Life and work

Roger Pfund made ​​his training as a graphic artist at the School of Applied Arts in Bern. He studied graphic apprenticeship with Kurt Wirth. In the years 1966, 1967 and 1968 he was awarded the Federal Grant for Applied Arts. Since 1969 a free artistic collaboration with Elisabeth Pfund done.

In the year 1970/1971 Roger and Elizabeth took pounds in the contest for a design of new banknotes. Since the Swiss National Bank finally decided for the scores of Ernst & Ursula Hiestand, the designs of Roger and Elisabeth pounds were taken into account only for the design of the reserve series of notes. In 1972, the designs were for new banknotes of the Swiss National Bank at Documenta 5 in Kassel in the department Parallel visual worlds: Social iconography shown.

Roger Pfund is a member of Alliance Graphique Internationale AGI. He is also active as a painter, artistic graphic designer, photographer and illustrator.
