Roger S Goody

Sidney Roger Goody ( born April 17, 1944 in Northampton ) is a British biochemist. Since 1993 he is Director at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology in Dortmund.

Life

Roger S. Goody studied chemistry at the University of Birmingham, England, where he received his doctorate in 1968. He then went as a postdoctoral fellow for two years at the Memorial Sloan -Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, NY, USA. In 1970, he came as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Experimental Medicine, Göttingen. From 1972 to 1993 he was a group leader at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research, Heidelberg. In 1983 he qualified as a professor in the Department of Biochemistry / Biophysics, University of Heidelberg, and was appointed in 1990 as an adjunct professor. In 1993 he accepted a position at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology and was a scientific member of the Max Planck Society and director of the Division of Physical Biochemistry. From 2004 to 2009 he also held the chair of biochemistry of macromolecular systems of medical school Bochum.

Since 2013 Roger Goody president of the Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is (GBM ).

He is married and has two children.
