The Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG ( symbol: R & S and RSD for Rohde & Schwarz Germany ) is a German electronics company with test and measurement, broadcasting, radio monitoring and radiolocation, as well as radio communications. The company manufactures products in the areas of mobile, radio and electronics, aerospace and defense and security technology and critical infrastructure.

History

The company was founded by Lothar Rohde and Hermann Schwarz, who had met each other while studying physics in Jena. 1932, they built their first instrument, and in August 1933, the company took Physico- Technical Development Laboratory Dr. Rohde & Dr. Black (short PTE ) the transactions on.

Rohde & Schwarz operates five plants in Europe and Asia. The European plants in Memmingen, Teisnach and Vimperk provide manufacturing services to external customers. Product lines

Measurement Technology for Wireless, general electronics and microwave

Rohde & Schwarz provides measurement solutions for mobile and wireless technologies GSM, UMTS / HSPA ( ), CDMA2000 to Bluetooth, GPS and wireless internet access via Wi-Fi and WiMAX.

Rohde & Schwarz provides interoperable radio communications systems for the military, government and civilian use.
