ROHM Co., Ltd.. is a Japanese manufacturer of electronic components headquartered in Kyoto.

ROHM was established on 17 September 1958 by Kenichiro Sato. Ken Sato has been the founding president and CEO.

At that time the main product were resistors. This is the basis nor the name from: R ( Resistor ) Ohms ( electrical unit size ). Over time, the product range to include semiconductors, ICs, LEDs, diodes, LCD display and thermal print heads has been extended. Approx. 80% of sales arising from these products.
