Rokitnica, Pomeranian Voivodeship
Rokitnica ( German Müggenhahl ) is a village in the powiat Gdański the Pomeranian Voivodeship in northern Poland.
Geographical location
The village is located about four kilometers east of Pruszcz Gdański ( German Praust ) and eleven kilometers south of the regional capital Gdańsk (Danzig ) on the so-called Danziger height or Höchte (Polish Zyzyna ).
Place name
The place name comes Rokitnica in Poland before six times. The German place name Müggenhahl is borrowed from the Low German and means sowiel like, Mückenloch '.
History
The village belonged before 1919 to the German province of West Prussia, and was after the First World War, assigned to the territory of the Free City of Danzig under the Versailles Treaty. After the Second World War the site was put together with the entire region under Polish administration. The village is now a part of the newly founded in 1999, Polish powiat County Gdański.
