Roland Blum

Roland Blum ( born July 12, 1945 in Les Pennes -Mirabeau ) is a French politician. He was from 1986 to 2012 Member of the National Assembly.

Blum worked as a lawyer, when he joined the General Council of Bouches -du -Rhône 1979. In 1983 he was also elected to the municipal council of the city of Marseille. In the European elections in 1984 he succeeded the election to the European Parliament, which in 1987 he but left again before the end of the legislative period. In the parliamentary elections 1986 the Gaullist pulled over a list to parliament. Two years later, he defended his position in the first constituency of Bouches -du -Rhône, after the proportional representation has been replaced by the majority vote. As a parliamentarian, he was also re-elected 1993, 1997, 2002 and 2007, most recently as a member of the UMP, founded in 2002. From 2001 to 2008 he was next to his deputies activity mayor of the 11th and 12th arrondissements of Marseille. In the 2012 elections, he initially planned a bid again, but finally decided in favor of Valérie Boyer, who previously represented the eighth constituency of Bouches -du -Rhône in Parliament.
